25 Minute Timer

Twenty-five minutes is the work interval used in the Pomodoro Technique, a time management method created by Francesco Cirillo. The timer is set to 25 minutes so you can begin a focus session right away.

How to run a Pomodoro session

  • Pick one task and write it down so you know what the session is for.
  • Start the 25 minute timer and work only on that task until the chime.
  • Take a short break of about five minutes. The 5 minute timer works for this.
  • After about four sessions, take a longer break before starting again.

Tips

Note distractions instead of acting on them

If something comes to mind mid-session, jot it down and get back to the task. Deal with it during your break.

Adapt the length if you need to

Twenty-five minutes is a starting point, not a rule. If longer sessions suit you, try the 30 or 60 minute timer.

Other timer lengths

Need a different length? Pick another preset, or use the custom timer to set any number of minutes and seconds.
